Job Description
You know commercial property accounting. You like clean books, balanced ledgers and reports that go out on time. You want steady part-time work where your skills matter and the people you work for notice.
We are an established Raleigh property management firm. We manage office, industrial and retail buildings across the Triangle. We are a small team, so you will work directly with the principal.
What you’ll do
• Every Wednesday, enter the week’s invoices (already coded by the property manager) and prepare the check run so checks print Thursday morning
• Post tenant receipts and keep tenant ledgers current in Yardi
• Enter new leases and amendments into Yardi from the lease abstracts we provide
• Prepare rent escalation letters and keep lease charges current
• Handle collections. Delinquencies are rare, but when they happen you follow up.
• Reconcile eight bank accounts each month, including the security deposit account
• Post balance sheet entries and keep balance sheets accurate; several owners require it
• Prepare monthly owner reports: three are due on the 14th, the rest on the 23rd
What you don’t do
Our team handles lease abstracts, invoice coding and the annual TICAM true-ups. You get clean inputs and a set schedule.
What you bring
• Three or more years of property accounting or bookkeeping experience; commercial property preferred
• Hands-on experience in Yardi (Voyager preferred). This is required.
• A working knowledge of balance sheet accounting, not just cash posting
• Ability to complete bank reconciliations on your own
• Comfort contacting tenants about late rent: firm, polite and professional
• Strong attention to detail, good organization and the habit of meeting deadlines
• QuickBooks experience is a plus
